Addictions of Yesterday

Almost let you drag me down,

Drowning out the voices,

Denying myself the freedom,

I stand tall and proud,

Chaos has been my life,

Time and time again,

Impulsive choices and actions,

Obstacles I've created,

Narrowing my treacherous path,

Silently I cry,

Oblivious I have been,

False emotions led me astray,

Yesterday has come and gone,

Ending the pain I've caused,

Sins forgotten as quickly as they come,

Today marks day one of the beginning,

Expecting to be alone,

Ready I am not,

Doubt filled thoughts cloud my judgement,

Anxiety stills my steps,

Yesterday I said goodbye.
