Addiction

Like a Shadow

Body craves what I can’t explain

Unfilled without I can’t sustain

Feeling weight upon my chest

Festering mind filled of unrest

No longer wanting to live that way

Trying to make my mind stay stray

Things that make the pain go away

Myself to never again betray

Everlasting numbness fades

Mind & body screaming for aide

Finally grasping the damage done

The days are gone of it being just fun

Filling my time with mundane hobbies

Trying new things is what this life embodies

Hoping this idea provides some traction

Making some movement creating some action

Change in mindset makes me brave

Seeking better until my grave

Shinning bright with all my might

Not giving up without a fight
