Breaking Away

Complicated by the snake of design

Twisting and turning

Hidden at the line

Dwelling for fragments of the broken heart

Waiting for any desired thought to unravel in your mind

Thinking that everything can be fine

By the snap of a finger and expecting a run to your toe

Waiting for every command and thinking I'll bow

Complicated

By the thought that I was too much

Overbearing and over willing

Willing for a prayer

To just get some peace

Never given the chance or the time of day

So I decided to walk away

To my surprise you let me go

Thinking I'll hate for what won't show

I have no room for the hate

No room for the inflicted pain

Crumbling like the skies on a morning of rain

To wake up and see sun again

Shining brighter

Than the heat of a burning ember

I will never hate you

Not now

Not ever

But the greatest gift you let me receive

With the beautiful moment of when you let me be

To simply hook up on a day like today

I shoot you down and fly away

Because I have time

All my own

To sail away and chase the moon
