It's the thing that keeps me going

The purpose I see inside;

And yet the effort seen from ahead of us

Is always dimmed in its size.

The adrenaline comes from the sharpness,

The detail in every smile.

I live and love for the thrill of it all;

The way the lights brighten my heart.

Acoustic-electric heartbeats,

Bring deep attention to what I hide;

The work I've done to come here,

Is blocked out from all my pride.

A simple pattern of words repeated

Until the moment finally comes,

It's hard to know how much it means

Unless you're backstage,

Silently singing along.
