Acid Rain
The sky weeps with a bitter sting,
A quiet poison in the air,
Falling soft as the clouds take wing,
Leaving traces of despair.
It stains the earth, the leaves, the stone,
A silent scorch beneath the ground,
The trees stand hollow, roots alone,
As the rain makes no sound.
Each drop a tear of broken truth,
A warning whispered, cold and gray,
Of fires fought and lost in youth,
Of skies that darken, then decay.
The rivers sour, the winds are sharp,
A taste of steel beneath the skin,
While we ignore the screaming harp
That once sang loud, but can’t again.
Acid rain falls, and we stand still,
As the earth bleeds, unable to heal.
How does this make you feel?
For we are all guilty of Murder
