Absurd

The "real world" makes no sense at all.

By Caitlyn WenzelPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Eyeless authority,

spewing lies of grand design.

Refusing resignation…

promoting crystalline

connections,

And high power perfection.

Neglecting the way bees

disco a sick code

and groove about their day.

How they don't know

a quick road

to slowing down decay.

Because snakes climb trees

without arms or legs.

And lately I’m inclined

to resign my dismay.

Unneeded for reality

when the beauty lies in blank slates.

Get wildly out the box,

eat those packing peanuts,

and never let them tape you down.

Because the world isn’t perfect,

or practical,

or precise.

It’s a twisted hoard

of unplucked chords,

and feathered fish,

and scaled birds...

"how absurd!"

bark the bemused brainiacs.

See we get sick off candy,

and broccoli,

and chlorine.

We enjoy dancing

and breaking the rules.

We live life unapologetically,

in a reality where no one really cares,

and nothing even matters.

But we bask in absurdity

and hope for the best.

Because in the end

we’re just tiny specks

with big, big heads.
