Absorption
There is talk of getting lighter over time.
Just as the damp finally clears from our breath
to bring the twilight into focus
hours hang heavy on a stone ledge
tracing a slow arc
to reveal our quiet histories.
We return to clarity.
Hand in hand
watching the tide pull back
in the deepening quiet.
