Absolute Silence

By: Patrick Price

By Patrick PricePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

There’s nothing left inside myself

An empty void where once was light

Cobwebs and dust, like an old shelf

Shadows coiling, strangling tight

I want to be heard

My feelings out and open

Nothing in my way, free like a bird

A brand new mirror, never broken

The echoes of my mind sit in silence

My throat choking on the sound

Wishing to shut off my conscience

Ruler of emptiness, I am crowned

A deafening quiet fills my soul

Drums echoing in the center

Fading as they give their last roll

Awaiting the day, for light to re-enter

Night by night, I suffer in absolute silence

Calming abyss, with such eloquence

surreal poetry
