About Time, Again

upon the breaths I take

Boy Joy's song is my name as

the door beneath my hand

rattles open and he sees me

Wife Wife's smile peeks from her mouth's corner

and pushes from my own chest

the best greeting

Cousin Couch is a worn warning

these feet better be up soon

and I can't disagree

Uncle TV changes his mind

often from the prefab cubby

and stories on

Auntie Google's melody paints warm hues across the walls

and colors beyond the lines

of the work I couldn't leave

at work

Mr. Balance, the attic-dweller, only comes down for occasional meals,

but his presence folds in nicely like dessert batter

and up like laundry

Everyone listens as our voices discuss their days

and the light outside skips away

surreal poetry
