Abasement

Tantalising tales of galvanising affirmations

Excavated through those falsifying admirations

Quieting the conscience from acting out of placement

But who are we to point out those hilarious acclimations

All of us have somehow acceded

To societal allegiance

Modified collegiates of life lessons and reasons

Magnified treatments now obvious to those who seek it

Elites manipulate the masses like its easy

Thoughts and emotions intertwined with the facetious

The veil between truth the lies now simply appearing

like a relic of the past that’s no longer appealing.

Since time immemorial we’ve been clawing and heaving

to fight against oppressors and tyrants and those who keep it,

the truth of the world a currency to use and steal it

to buy small gains while masses of people feel it.

Starving for food and truth while seeming wild and raving

and those on top simply paint it how they see fit

Conspiracies and rhetoric blasted on every station.

The truth is melted under mountains of empty pages,

Buried along with people’s last hopes and cravings

Inciting the life of degeneracy and containment

Arbitrary standards now roam free from abatement

Distracted with small crumbs and entertainment

Rights shoved deep down to the basement

While they laugh at the ease of abasement.
