In a writer’s mind, there is no break.

You work and work and wonder if it will ever be enough.

Is it all for nothing?

Are the dreams all fake?

In a writer’s mind, there is no stop.

Jolting down everything you see,

Is that life truly for me?

Hope fades out with a crackle, then a pop.

In a writer’s mind, adventure is key–

Through finding true love, fighting a war, or establishing peace.

But you must first face the climb,

The climb through the imaginative debris.

In a writer’s mind, everything has color.

The dead, crumbled leaves tell a beautiful story.

Bad times–they turn to glory.

There is always more to discover when you live in a world of color.

Having a writer's mind gives me a sense of home.

Nurturing your stories with the fruit of your creativity,

Growing with the characters before you set them off to roam.

I will never cease reaching into that infinity–

Into the place that gives me a sense of my home.
