A Writer’s Distraction
Acrostic
D.reaming of a new life filled with poems and prose,
I.nspired by stories in my head that nobody knows,
S.truggling between a job at a bank and pursuing my dreams,
T.rying to find time to write and sew up the seams
R.eeling from reality trying to take my attention,
A.nxious as ammo abundant ideas strive for ascension,
C.onfident to break free from dissatisfaction,
T.hankful to have discovered such an incredible passion.
I.ngrained by writing, and the words which rest in my chest,
O.verjoyed from overflows as I wonder what’s next,
N.umb by the 8 to 5 grind, as believe becoming a writer fulfills my life, helps me unwind, if only I could leave the real distractions behind, because for me, writing feels right…

A minute. Sixty seconds to say goodbye. That’s all the time that I had left with him as the needle slid into his leg.
