The state of affairs in the world is bleak,

Entropy and chaos reign supreme,

The strong succeed and prey on the weak,

Or at least, that is how things may seem,

Information and news is instant and fresh,

Opinionated and enflamed to make a point,

And media is circulated with no filter or mesh,

Causing society to partisan and disjoint,

In truth, things are not as hopeless as one thinks,

If you can tune out the downers, cancel out the noise,

Push people away from their brinks,

And inspire them to pursue their joys,

Look out for their health and accept their flaws,

Give them the respect and courtesy they deserve,

Encourage them to avoid the media's un-vetted jaws,

And come together to build a world none can enerve,

Because the world is not spiraling or lost,

So long as mankind has the ability to come together,

But people must be reminded that this ability hasn't been quashed,

By those selfless few who's faith in humanity shines forever,

I count myself among these few,

I give hope to others, and make sure they succeed alongside me,

So they may realize and come to view,

That the world is far from lost if they'd unite, not disagree.
