A World of Distractions at my Fingertips

Digital devices keep me entertained but also removed from the moment

I have other things to do and people to interact with

Still, I find myself unable to pull away, unable to rejoin the world around me

Technology has become a coping mechanism to deal with the stress of the world

Real world problems can be ignored as long as I have videos, games, and social media

A whole world of distractions awaits at the tip of my fingers to help me forget about my problems, but too much time away from the world just exacerbates the issues and the stress

Can’t break away but I know that I must

Tasks that I need to do just pile up as I waste my day away on my devices

I know I need to do other things now, but I can’t put it down

Other things I need and want to do aplenty, but I just want to spend five more minutes online

Now I really need to put the device down
