A Wonderful White World

A Short Poem on the Joys of Winter and Snow!

The frigid wind twisted playfully around me,

It was the Christmas season finally!

A snowy blanket covered the fields white!

Even the trees were quite the sight!

The snow was so soft as I walked along,

The sound of the wind was so strong.

A blizzard came over night

Turning my whole world clean and bright.

I turned around and gazed behind me,

My trail of prints was all I could see.

I walked quite aways more before I stumbled upon a frozen lake.

My heart jolted and I did a doubletake.

In the center there sat a duck,

Whose middle was frozen, he was stuck!

Carefully yet desperately, I climbed onto the ice,

I knew that my risk to save him was suffice.

Trembling now I leaned over chiseled,

Away at the ice till it fizzled.

Quickly now I scooped him up,

He look so pitiful like a soggy pup!

I took him home and cleaned him, I sigh

Tomorrow I'll set him free and away he'd fly.

The snowy world had many adventures,

Even in its frozen temperatures!
