A Whispering Wind

A Poem

If winds were to speak

What might they say?

Give us sage advice?

Count hours in a day?

Would they be playful,

Smart, funny, kind?

Or perhaps they might be

Very human of mind.

Maybe they’d be shallow,

Vain, insecure, and whatnot.

They may be easy to insult,

Get their knickers in knots.

But maybe they’d be sad –

Melancholic, if you will –

If they’ve been trying to talk,

Perhaps they’re trying still.

But I guess we’ll never know

What a whispering wind might say.

Its sage advice to give,

If it counts hours in a day.
