A WEEKEND ON HIS BOAT
No more on his boat he can choose the sea or me

A WEEKEND ON HIS BOAT
He asked me for a weekend,
Upon his little boat,
He promised me the sunshine,
And calmness on the sea.
The water looked so peaceful,
The sky was clear and blue,
I thought this little journey,
Would be a dream come true.
We laughed beside the water,
And watched the sunset glow,
He told me not to worry,
And let the moment flow.
But later that same evening,
The weather changed its face,
The wind began to whistle,
And darkness filled the place.
The waves became much higher,
The little boat moved fast,
I held onto the railing,
And wondered if we’d last.
He tried to keep me calm then,
But fear was in his eyes,
The water crashed around us,
Beneath the blackened skies.
We waited through the darkness,
Until the storm had passed,
The morning brought the sunlight,
And showed that we were safe.
I’ll never take that boat trip,
Or sail that sea again,
Some weekends leave a memory,
That stays with you for years.
