I saw the perplexity upon his face as he stepped from the Hallelujah train

He stood for a long time looking around, observing...wanting to know if his sacrifice had all been in vain

Did his profound insights about life, love, and justice continue to inspire and motivate people today.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - He mused, as he read of the wars, personal vendettas and human casualties which still continues.

"Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are you doing for others"?

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter".

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"I have decided to stick with love...Hate is too great a burden to bear."

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."

"Just came for a quick visit. Some things have changed...yet some things remain the same".

He turned back towards the train...

At the door he paused, doffed his hat towards me...

And disappeared.
