a trans love tale

the words that bring me towards a world full of Trans Love

I often think back to the times when my body forgot how to love.

The ways my mind would wander, hands reaching

Desperate to feel the waves crashing over me that would bring me back to the shore where

I once stood.

There was a time when love felt like an expectation

The desire to be desired by the hands of cis men

Their hungry eyes taking my young body,

desperate to taste the perfume that coated

my neck.

When moments like these pass through me

The touching of two hands belonging to trans souls

I’m reminded of the love that has been kept from my body

and the ways kinship exists beyond this life.

Brought back from the days where i lay breathless

Her eyes drag me slowly

home

a dwelling that has warm arms for walls

safety in place of a roof

and love at the front door.

through touch and co-existence i am reminded

of how Love once flowed through me

my trans body a maze of canals and river beds

paving my path towards being Loved

once again.
