A Tear for the Rare

A melancholic ode

A rarity so precious, yet it brings me pain

For its beauty is fleeting, it will not remain

A fleeting moment of joy, lost in the breeze

Its memory, a sorrow that will never cease

*

A single tear, a symbol of my despair

For what once was, now seems so rare

A heart that aches, a soul that yearns

For a love that once burned, now it just burns

*

The memories linger, like a haunting refrain

A reminder of what was, but will never remain

The beauty it held, now just a distant past

Its rarity, a wound that time cannot outlast

*

So here I stand, with a heavy heart

Gazing at what once was, but now has to part

A rarity so precious, yet it brings me pain

For its beauty is fleeting, it will not remain.
