Another summer day concludes
Drenched in hues of red and gold
That none but nature could produce
As the spectacle unfolds
Or perhaps the hand of God
Plies the brush that paints the skies
Strokes to soothe our earthbound hearts
Through the windows of our eyes
I know the cold fact that the sight
Is due to our world's atmosphere
But physics fails to comprehend
The force that keeps me rooted here
My heart demands I find the words
To honor such magnificence
But every effort my mind makes
Somehow seems lacking eloquence
I cannot find...
I fail each time..
I haven't the words.
