A Story of You
My attempt to textualise the intangible

Sadness, either passionately or imperceptibly melts your core and body. It is a force that makes you feel your very being is pulled or rather merciless pushed towards the floor, attacking your feet first before climbing up your surrendering limbs. Sadness is the life drained out of shades of blue and grey. It is the hot tears welling in hurt eyes threatening to cascade down warm faces. Sadness is weakening. Sadness likes to linger.
Anger is a searing heat, licking over your skin and igniting your core. Anger is surrendering to irrationality. Indulging in the pleasurable burst of passion that covers the wounds of hurt from being seen by the enemy. Anger is energy. Buzzing atmosphere, electrifying air that whispers seductive encouragements to unleash. A bittersweet release promising catharsis; a purging of the soul, followed by a shameful clarity.
Heavy chains tying you to a depth below the earths crust. A sufferance at the hand of conscience. Guilt is a poison. A sickly liquid pumping through a demon’s heart. Guilt is sliding the cold blade against hot skin. Staining pale faces, white with shame by streaks of crimson and salty regret. Guilt is merciless. Guilt is a pain like no other. Guilt is flaming arrow shot at the heart of your own reflection.
Happiness is taken for granted. Often unrecognised in the blissful moment of its occurrence until the moment becomes a warm memory. Happiness is a sweet sensation that lightly envelopes you, so delicate you might miss it if you aren’t paying attention. Happiness is the melodic laugher spilling out of your mouth without consent, a cheeky force pulling the corners of your mouth into an unrelenting smile. Happiness is contagious. It is warm. It is a soft 5 o’clock glow cast over you by a maternal sun. Happiness is freeing. A switch that alters the gravitational pull of the earths core to the highest star in the galaxy. But happiness is fleeting. If not recognised and thanked, it will depart as suddenly as it came to visit.
