A Sorry Without Change

A Sorry Without Change

By ElliePublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I was talking to God today,

whispering a sorry I don’t truly feel.

Because sorry is just a word, isn’t it?

A sound that fades,

when the same mistakes repeat.

I say it, again and again,

but what is its worth

if my actions remain the same?

Instead of saying sorry,

shouldn’t I change?

But I don’t.

I stand still,

wrapped in the comfort of my flaws.

Maybe I’m just a dreamer,

not the kind who builds—

but the kind who only wishes,

who lets the days slip

like sand through trembling fingers.

God, I don’t want to just say it.

I want to mean it.

I want to become the kind of person

who doesn’t need to apologize

for the same sins,

the same regrets,

the same mistakes.

Help me change.
