A sonnet for solace from a solitary soul.

Sum our days, sum our nights.

By Lindsay A. HarveyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The flights of the kites waver; shift in height.

The sun shines bright over a cloudless sky.

Eruptions of laughter; youthful delight.

Warmth soothes souls while epidermises fry.

Have they forgotten to apply sunscreen?

Scorching UV rays may limit their days.

It's just too bad the future ain't foreseen.

No time for formalities, sol's ablaze!

The moons now ascending over the sky.

It's 'bout eight o'clock, it's almost twilight.

What a day, my oh my, how time does fly!

I'll flap my wings, and take flight in to night.

My days are unpredictably numbered.

I find peace living free; unencumbered.
