A SONG OF RACE

Breaking The Walls That Divides Us

By TalktochrisPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

Racial lines etched deep in our skin,

A history of hatred, now we begin

To unravel the knots, to untie the strings

Of prejudice and bias that bind our wings.

We are all human, yet we divide

Our brothers and sisters, we cast aside

With labels and stereotypes, we define

And limit the potential of those who shine.

But we must break free from the chains

That keeps us separate, that cause us pains

For in diversity, we find our strength

In unity, we can go to any length

To build a world where all can thrive

Where all have equal chance to survive

Where love and acceptance is the norm

And hatred and bigotry is the storm.

We must face our past, the sins of our forefathers

And acknowledge the hurt and the pain it bothers

But in doing so, we can learn to forgive

And strive for a future, where all can live

With dignity and respect, without fear

Of discrimination or hate, so dear

Let us join together, hand in hand

And create a world, where all can stand

Tall and proud, without any shame

For the color of their skin, their culture or name

We are one race, the human race

And together we can create a better place.

We must acknowledge our privilege and power

And use it to uplift, to empower

Those who have been marginalized and oppressed

And work towards a world that is truly blessed

With equality and justice, for all

Where racism and prejudice, take a fall

Let us be the change, we wish to see

And create a world, where all can be free.

So let us break down the walls that divide

And come together, with love as our guide

For we are all equal, in the eyes of the divine

And it's time to see that, in our hearts, align.

Let us create a world where all can thrive

Where all have equal chance to survive

Where love and acceptance is the norm

And hatred and bigotry is the storm.
