A Snowman's Swan Song
Winter's Pleasure Under Threats

From the distance you spot my existence,
I am symbol of playful innocence.
Darkness can’t hide my joyful presence,
in this snowy landscape.
**
Without these white snowflakes,
shaped in elegant icy crystals,
falling in a ballet of wintery delight,
from the cold midnight sky,
I would be nonexistent.
**
For I am made of
millions and billions and trillions
of those delicate whispering snowflakes,
like you are made of
millions and billions and trillions
of cells and atoms.
**
Echo’s of laughter and cherished tales
is my legacy hereafter.
**
And yet……..
**
There is a threat that shrouds
the chilly air.
One that will not
let us coexist.
**
A match strike on
Earth’s protective
embryonic sac,
scorching the fragile layer
will keep me from being
that symbol of playful innocence
for your offspring.
**
Take a good look at me now,
imprint me in your mind
my winter blanket
grows tattered and battered.
A questionable future,
for me,
which doesn’t look too bright.
**
Gone will be this snowy landscape,
with big fat snowflakes
falling from a starry night.
**
From the distance you once could spot my existence
I Was a symbol of playful innocence.
Gone are the echoes of laughter and cherished tales.
**
Darkness will be all that is there,
For I am a victim of sunlit wounds.
My once jolly presence will be
just a puddle of earth’s cries and children's anguish moods.
