"A Smooth Character"
A love story
He was a smooth character, for sure!
All the silly women nieve and insecure,
looked to him for their future.
Blinded by the words that slid off his tongue,
they really thought they were the only one!
Prancing around in their Sunday best,
bragging about their great conquest.
"That's my man" you would hear them say;
"You know, I'm gonna be his wife someday",
"He told me I am his only one",
"that I hung the moon and set the sun".
"Our future looks ever so bright",
"I know he loves me with all his might".
Those silly women, they would go on and on,
when all along he was doing them wrong!
Everything about him was just so smooth,
from his slicked-back hair to his attitude.
He would stack his deck for the greatest reward
and play his cards with no holds barred.
Each of these women could hardly believe,
in reality, they had all been deceived.
While they were making plans for a wedding,
he was busy,
leaving them each regretting,
they ever believed a word that came out of his mouth.
He filled his pockets with all of their wealth,
then quietly dipped and smoothly headed south!
