This villanelle reflects how female slaves were often violated. They did not have the right to chose who to lose their virginity to. Many times it was taken by slave masters.

The pre-teen girl shed bitter tears

As "Massa" kept her in his gaze

Soon she would realize her worst fears

Stripped of what she held dear

Locked in a deadly maze

As he whispered in her ear

She was living out her worst fears

It seemed she was surrounded by haze

As his animal grunts, she could hear

He ignored her bitter tears

With lust, he seemed half-crazed

Having stolen what she held dear

She knew his climax was near

As he kept her in his gaze

Holding her close, he reeked of beer

Laughing at her bitter tears

Semen released his body he raised

It was worse than she had feared

Nothing was left that she could hold dear

Villanelle
