A Secret Love
We had a love nobody knew,
A hidden world between me and you,
We kept it quiet, kept it small,
Like something precious behind a wall.
No photographs, no words to share,
No one could know that you were there,
Just stolen moments, whispered low,
And feelings that we couldn’t show.
I knew your eyes before your words,
I heard the silence nobody heard,
A look across a crowded room,
Could make my heart begin to bloom.
We learned to hide what we both knew,
I watched the world while watching you,
And every time you walked away,
I wished that you could somehow stay.
Secret love can feel so sweet,
When two hearts quietly meet,
But underneath the sweetness lies,
A thousand questions and goodbyes.
How long can something hidden last,
Before the present becomes the past?
How long can two hearts pretend,
That secret love will never end?
Sometimes I wanted to shout your name,
Sometimes I wondered if you felt the same,
But we kept silent, both afraid,
Of what our little secret might have made.
And now when I think of what we knew,
I wonder if it still lives in you,
A love that nobody ever saw,
But to me it meant so much more.
