The Summer muses

What dreams of made of?

If you have ever sat, maybe with a glass of wine on a summer's evening and thoughts of so many things run through your mind, it can become a bit of a haze. Welcome to my world and maybe yours too. You may be able to sympathise or emphasise or simply relate to some of my summer time musings below. Let me know what you think. - Enjoy.

Harmony as a melody hums

Inside my head, the beat of a drum

I let it carry me through my day

The fuel to get me on my way

Keeps me honest and on track

Looking forward never back

Lifts me up when I’m pulled down

My comfort companion to have around

As the day ticks on by

I can search for inspiration; from the sky

Clouds, sunshine, showers dance United

My love of life remains unrequited

The chores remain as the day draws in

Process, hair, teeth, and all over skin

Seeking energy from my ‘hidden box’

Locate the magical key for which it unlocks

Time has elapsed for this little span

Taking me to the end, the race now ran

Off to the land of hope and dreams

When I awake they’re never what it seems...
