In life, we make friends, we love and we care,

We laugh and we cry, we share and we repair.

But sometimes, life takes away, what we hold dear,

And we're left with a void, that's filled with a tear.

*

Such was the case, with a friend of mine,

Who was rare, in every sense, so fine.

But fate had its way, and took her away,

Leaving me here, in grief, day by day.

*

She was rare, like a diamond, in a sea of stone,

Her laughter, her kindness, her love all her own.

And now that she's gone, I feel so alone,

With memories of her, as my only throne.

*

So goodbye, my dear friend, I'll miss you each day,

But I'll keep your memories, with me, come what may.

For you were a rare friend, one of a kind,

And your love, will always be, on my mind.
