A Quiet Morning
The ones that arrive gently, asking only that we notice

The covers rolled back my feet hit the floor heavy pushing upward I raise my arms reaching balled fists on raised toes an ease along my spine and shoulders give release the chirps through my open windows call me to see their beauty fluttering from branch to bough spots of vibrant color their singing deepens the peace within Curtains spread wide I turn my face to the warm sunlight eyes closed I let the rhythm of my breathing steady me inhaling as if time has paused just for me I smile softly in this moment time loosens— warmth settles without asking a quiet symphony at my window another morning— I am here.

Some things you’re told to follow. Some things you have to feel out for yourself. I write in between— learning as I go.
