A Quiet Goodbye

We stood beneath the fading autumn sky,

The laughter shared now echoes in the air,

Once woven dreams now frayed at every seam,

I trace the lines of what we used to be,

Your smile a ghost that lingers in my mind,

Yet love, like leaves, must fall and drift away,

With every step, the distance grows so wide,

No more the warmth of hands that used to fit,

Just silence.
