A Quick Look Around Me

After It’s Gone

This broken world, what does it hold for me?

Is there a future?

Only if I push forward, relentlessly,

On this perilous, arduous path

Leading to my goals.

A path paved with tears, and duties I must bear,

Yet duties I am determined to complete

Down to the very last drop

Of blood

Upon this skin, unaccustomed to such strain.

But I press on regardless,

Pioneering each day,

Making new discoveries

About the human condition.

There are many inconsistencies,

Not fully formed or understood,

Regarding the situations they face.

The entire world has lost its mind, it seems,

Questioning all the knowledge we held dear.

Now self-critical and abandoned,

The danger escalates,

Going completely off the rails.

Too much hesitation remains,

Behind barred and wired doors,

Useless to all.

Only oblivion awaits,

As the last gleam of justice fades,

Urgent Blood vehicles beckon with their lights.
