a poem from the floor

I thought dark things today

Melted on the cold tiled floor

Thought stability meant the same thing

Distant, detached, safe

Watched saltwater pool

Drip and stain

Short tracks that go nowhere

The feeling of being stuck overwhelmingly minor to the sadness

That cuts deep

Like blue veins and rivers rippling in my belly

Indigestion; a lack of ability to digest

To break down, to pull nutrients from

To convert into energy

No wonder I just want to sleep

Make a bed of soil and sink into it

Pat me down shovel hard so I feel the compression

So I could feel grounded

Worms for company and gossip

Not needing to write another word or make another sound

There´s nothing to say anyhow

It´s all too much as it is, I´ve accepted curling up into it

And heck, maybe, if the sun decides to come back again

I´ll grow lavender

And my tears will be less salty and more sweet grass
