This poem is a much too vulnerable confession
About struggling with insecurity, anxiety, and depression
Fake all the confidence
But self esteem is very low
In any situation
Assume the worst case scenario
Example
When somebody says:
I’ll let you get to writing
Have a nice day
Translate that as:
I wish you’d fuck off
And go the fuck away
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every smile’s fake
Every compliment a lie
They say it’s good to see you
But they really wish you’d die
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a problem
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Exhausted
And anxious
In every waking moment
And they’re all waking moments
Because you can’t sleep
Since the same thoughts keep replaying
That day’s moment
That spun you out
And you relive it
Over and over and over and over
Until you start living in the made up aftermath
Which makes things even worse
Until it’s time to get up
And pretend you are fine again
