The Journey To Watch Every Movie…

2024

Watched:

Bicycle Thieves 1948 — 7/10

Historical moments of cinema, one of the best of its time

“You just can’t win. It rains every Sunday.”

“Why kill myself worrying when I’ll end up just as dead anyway?”

Valley Of The Dolls 1967 — 6.5/10

Beautiful cinematography, performances are extremely but charmingly dated, first visuals

“It seems the two of us are alone in the world. / We are, you know that.”

“When you fall in love you belong to someone else.”

The Sugarland Express 1974 — 8.5/10

Based on a true story, charming photography direction, themes of familial hardships and mental health, audience develops empathy in real time with Officer Sacks

“When I called you a son of a bitch I didn’t mean it. / And you ain’t no mental subject either.”

One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest 1975 – 9/10

Incredible casting and directing, symbolism with keys cigarettes and alcohol force the audience to endure traumas from patients

“Every time he put the bottle to his mouth, he don’t suck out of it, it sucks out of him.”

Alien 1979 — 8.5/10

Focuses on humanity’s greed and the challenges of isolation vs affection, noteworthy acting and editing tactics, unusual effects add a permanent timestamp

“I can’t lie to you about your chances but… you have my sympathies.”

The Terminator 1984 — 8/10

Steady captivating pace throughout the film, questions lengths of love, cinematography and editing enhance the sci-fi feel

Interesting plot and overall well written

“Look at this way- in a hundred years who’s gonna care?”

Lean On Me 1989 — 7.5/10

Classic 80’s plot skeleton, explores themes of discipline and selfishness

“You’re dropping out on me, huh? / I’m not dropping out, I’m moving on– / You’ll be dead in a year.”

Love Songs 1999 — 7.5/10

Authentic raw conflicts, ranges directing angles for a variety of perspective for all three parts, interconnecting stories and an intriguing concept overall

“When you feel like you’re sailing alone, you’re usually in the same boat as everybody else.”

And the things I haven’t done…
