A Mothers Love
Full Moon Poem Challenge
There he was watching her from afar,
Trying to catch her he was, she was his prisoner before her escape.
As beautiful as her prison was she needed to get away from the Crystal Palace.
The Crystal Palace was where she grew up,
But that was before the prison it had become from the dark sorcerer that day.
She ran through the forest of crystal that surrounded the palace, her escape would not be an easy one,
She was all alone as she had been for years before, her family killed by her captor.
Her power was what he needed, her magic that brought light.
She tripped on the rugged crystal path and cried out.
She needed help, she couldn't get away alone.
In the corner of her eye, she saw a masked figure.
When she turned to see him, he was gone.
She ran after him, hoping for help.
She got to where he had been standing and looked right,
She saw him there again.
She chased.
And so, the chase began.
At the end, when she could no longer breathe,
The figure stopped and turned to her.
He pulled off his mask, and he was no he,
But a her.
Her mother was standing before her telling her she was now safe.
But before she could reach her mother, her mother disappeared into glow dust.
She sat and cried; she missed her mother.
Her kind and loving mother.
She cried herself to sleep, before waking up to reality
With tears streaming down her face in her own mothers' arms.
