A Morning Of Firsts

Poem

By Paul CrockerPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

The first stream of light to hit your sight.

The first yawn you can not fight.

The first temperature change as you take off the duvet.

The first steps as you slowly make your way.

The first drop of milk to hit the mug's base.

The first look in the mirror at your face.

The first crumb to fall from the toasted slice.

The first knob of butter spread by the knife.

The first crunch of snow as you step outside.

The first slip on ice as you forget you slide.

The first note heard from a robin's breast.

The first moment you don't feel stressed.
