A Moment

Rest

By Hunter BlakelyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Lying on the floor atop a heated crystalline grid, breathing deeply, listening to the body's aches and pains.

Sleep has eluded me yet again.

Closed eyes, flashes of insight.

Images of anatomy, geometry, energy, and mechanical outlines.

Understanding in moments, then the images fade.

It's morning now.

Time to hunt.

Walking calmly in the wake of frantic worriers.

Knowing I will have what I seek.

In moments, all that I need has been retrieved.

Back to the hovel for a moment's rest.

Then to work with me, to do my best.
