A MIDNIGHT CHAT WITH THE UNIVERSE

I breathed in the wind,

But the wind was too wise.

It wouldn't enlighten me,

Or open my eyes.

I wished on the stars,

But the stars ceased to shine.

Were the stars trying to tell me,

That they were not mine.

I looked at the moon,

And asked can you help please?

The moon said no,

Was it truth or trying to tease.

So I called on the universe,

And said let's manifest.

The universe said get your wishes in order,

And make sure they're dressed.

I asked what does dressed mean?

It said perfect requests.

Get all your wishes in order,

And then I may grant your request.

So I sat and pondered,

I thought for a while.

Then something just clicked,

And it made me smile.

Instead of saying please can I have?

I decided to thank instead.

For all of the blessings bestowed on me,

And the thoughts inside my head.

I thanked the stars for shining,

I thanked the moon that night.

I thanked the wind for blowing,

Even though it wouldn't put things right.

And guess what happened next?

Within an hour things seemed right.

Everything started going my way,

All the things I'd wished that night.

Everything had manifested,

Every wish I'd made that night.

And I wondered was it gratitude,

That had made everything right?
