Strange as it seemed,

you end up remembering almost everything about them.

Though you had had the pleasure of seeing them in your dreams

or at the occaisonal coffee shop,

you knew that something about them

held nightmarish qualities.

Perhaps it was in the way they moved,

they way their smile would sway you to move,

they way their hands would wave around,

beckoning you to come out of your tight hole

and join the world of the living.

Yet it was in that that your fear began to emerge.

Suddenly, you felt your heart beat a little faster,

your stomach clench.

The person you thought you knew was gone,

replaced with a stranger instead.

How could this be?

You figured it was about time something got to you.

You weren't afraid,

but you knew you should be.

After all,

the mirror never lies.

It remembers above all else.
