A Melancholy Evening

Poetry

By I VPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

It’s been an evening deep in thought

The sun is dimming down

It’s starting to get colder by the minute

Time is slowing down

The room is getting quiet

And once again she is left alone.

This time it’s not coffee giving life to her soul

It’s chamomile tea soothing her entire heart

With a hint of magic from John Mayer

She has found purpose again

With only one thing preventing her from feeling complete

That being her long-lost love.

Her inability to love as much

And her ability to still get hurt

Have been her only company

On this melancholy ride.
