A Lurk of Pain
In the depths of the night, a circle of pain
Lurks in the shadows, in a quiet refrain
It whispers of sorrow, of tears and of woe
And it lingers around, wherever we go
Loneliness creeps in, like a thief in the night
Stealing our peace, and our will to fight
Leaving us lost, and drowning in fear
With nothing to hold, and nobody near
A stolen hope, so precious and bright
Now shattered and broken, in the midst of the night
Leaves us in darkness, with no way to see
The light of tomorrow, that could set us free
We search for a beacon, a glimmer of light
To guide us through darkness, and to make things right
But the circle of pain, seems to grow and expand
And it takes hold of us, with an iron-like hand
We cry out for help, for someone to hear
But our pleas go unanswered, and fall on deaf ears
And we wonder if life, is a cruel, twisted game
Where pain is our only companion, and nothing's the same
But amidst the despair, and the sadness we feel
There's a strength that we have, that's buried so deep
It's a resilience and hope, that never truly dies
And it's what keeps us going, even when we want to hide
So let us hold on, to that flicker of light
And let it guide us, through the darkest of nights
For we are not alone, in this lurk of pain
And together we can rise, and feel alive again.
