A Knight In The Shinning Armor
A free verse poem
across the mountain valley,
there lies a silence
except for the sound of the owls
and unknown birds, frightened in fear
trees covered in dark shadows
horse step sound on the road
clouds of dust, stones, and mud evaporating
a knight with the shining armor
skimming through the pitch-black motions
onto his destination
unknown
unrested, tired on the horse-ride
back from the war
alone
defeated
losing all his companions on the ground where conflict stepped in
destination now unknown
a different place to live
an army to join
a place to rule
or to live a life of a peasant
and accept the happiness he searched for
clasp the peace he opted for.
he heard some noise in the background
he could see the dust cloud popping up in the distant mountain road
it’s time again to hit the road
to restart the search for a safe destination
for relieving the cruel past
to forget a constant fear of destiny,
marching forward.
