A Journey Begins
The Final Day of the Winter Writing Sanctuary

The door opens,
the fresh artic wind
blown in from untraveled lands
caresses my cheek,
it's icy touch an invitation
to step forth.
The world before me
has been transformed.
What was once green
and half-living shades of
dormant brown and gray
are now a sheet of pure white,
a blank canvas,
clean and untouched.
Where I dare go,
beyond this threshold,
I will leave my footprints
and all will know by them,
I was here.
