A Poem

Do not trust clocks ticking within the glass.

Please binge-watch that show (or 12 other ones);

croon for dazzling riches you’ll amass,

recline and relax as your dream-blood runs

.

gently down the comforting stream of bliss.

Algorithms cradle your restless mind;

dancing visions flood; nothing is amiss.

Fingers pluck the slow sanity unwind.

.

Some insist your friend is a hungry thief;

it yearns for you, for time, for everything.

You’re safe, you’re in control, is your belief;

dream less, think less, pay tax to your loved king.

.

Some minutes it’s stolen, maybe it’s three;

or a year or two. Let’s sit back and see.
