When I think about home, I don’t think of a building.
I don’t see the green grass covering the lawn.
I don’t picture the empty living room table.
I don’t feel the bright colors of the walls.
I don't transport into my purple childhood bedroom.
Instead, when I think about home, I think of the people.
Who I grew up with, who I look up to, and who I love.
The people inside of the building make this house feel like a home.
Because without them, it is just green grass.
It is just an empty living room table, colorful walls, and an unmade bed.
Instead, I imagine all the life filled within these walls.
The ones who could make any place feel like a home.
