A Friend, Turned Foe II

Desire, you were never my friend, but for so long, I wanted you to be. I see now that, that will never happen.

desire,

if i had the power to put you to death,

i would‐

because everyday, you cause the death of me‐

in retrospect, i guess you were always an enemy‐

every question in regards to you is answered with no

you can't tell me i'm wrong, but

am i in the wrong?

maybe so, or...

maybe that's just my luck‐

pieces of a puzzle i've been missing for so long

maybe asking for peace is aking for too much‐

maybe asking for rest is asking for too much‐

i am neither a beggar nor a chooser, but

i'd take anything over the turmoil you turn in to me

the suffering you've gifted to me‐

you place hope before my eyes only to taunt me

oh desire,

if i could put an end to you,

i would have by now‐

because everyday, you brind an end to me‐

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
