A Flock Of Ravens

Equals Murder

Thirsty throats and hollow hearts,

shattered souls with partial parts.

Forget me nots, through wandering eyes,

troubling thoughts and meddling minds.

Perfectly permanently, poetically paralyzed,

nothing has changed, when it's covered with shameful lies.

Done with the game, cause no matter how fast time flies,

it's a terrible shame, when the rhymes slowly rot and die.

*

Who comes to call, when paying a visit,

truth clearly spoken, if you care to listen.

At rest in the casket, as we casually pass by,

can’t change the feelings, you’re feeling inside.

No reason to worry, no-one left to blame,

everything you're hiding, revealing your shame.

No need to be sorry, no-one's naming names,

confusing chemistry burns, when sharp statements remain.

*

The murderous ravens await, outside your door,

they have come to collect, leave your dead at the door.

They care not the reason, or excuses why,

but when they group together, it's clear, someone, must die.

I adore ravens and crows, oh and vultures. That's beside the point. This was some mighty Poe-esque style poetry. It was stunning, Kelli. I loved the joyful wordplay at work here. Stellar work, Kelli!

Again, this is quite the poem that brings up many thoughts on a few subjects other than death, but of relationships.
